Give in to the smooth temptation of warm layers of rum hugging every inch of the chocolate. The Love Bites are a Special combination of chocolate, sweet agave nectar, with rum touching every molecule, laid over a bed of crunchy coconut and formed into a silky heart which melts in your mouth.
These are very different than the Bolas Del Diablo they dont actually
make you tipsy like the Bolas did... they just make you
"Nice....." Dark chocolate has the natural effect of giving you an elevated sense of peace & calm...
and the warm overproof.... mmmmmn... the chocolate just melts in your mouth like the plot of a good love story where the
hero finally gets the girl! Ohhhh! I like these much better than
the Bolas del diablo... the Bolas were Mean, and would knock you down...
these on the otherhand make you WANT to lay down... Mnnn Mnnn.
They dont taste like bolas del diablo. They are different; smoother. If you're not a huge fan of alcohol these are perfect, and to lighten the feel of the dark chocolate agave nectar was added to smoothen the flavor while maintaining the benefits of dark chocolate while maintaining its Vegan status.
HISTORY:
When I made the bolas del diablo I covered each one by one by hand (you cannot dip rum or any liquid in molten chocolate because it
causes the chocolate to seize). Once the chocolate seizes it become thick
like fudge... then thick enough to roll into a ball. So I had bowls upon bowls of thick 'unusable' rum-seized chocolate. I left for the weekend & when I returned I saw how
the chocolate had formed this beautiful glossy smooth surface... then I TASTED some of this silky chocolate... Mmmmnnn. Then I had another & another...
Rum & chocolate tastes SO good together! Mixed inside the
chocolate it becomes one... like a well choreographed dance of
sin & seduction, lust & chemistry, the pleasure of a little
pain, the sweetness of a new romance.
The chocolate
is dark, so when it touches your tongue it begins to melt... then the agave nectar slides out into a smooth sweet kiss all
over your mouth... & the rum... by the time you taste the sweetness
of the nectar, the warm rum unfolds & the tender warmth caresses
your tongue... it doesn't intoxicate you... it nice-ens you... mellows
you. Before you know it, you realize; You've been Bitten By Love....
The only thing you can do is lay back and give in... But when Love
Bites you Must Bite Back. So have another... & another..... ;-)
This chocolate is nice, like getting
caught up in the moment of a passionate affair... never realizing you
were getting 'Love-Bites.'
I gave the chocolate an "under-texture" into which you can sink
your teeth. The coconut creates the bottom layer & base. It makes a nice
crispy crunch... the coconut in the bolas was sweet & crumbly &
the alcohol was soaked into the coconut. In the Love Bites, the rum is
in the chocolate, so is the additional sweetener. The coconut flakes are
covered by the chocolate and make a crunchy layer at the bottom, In
the Love-Bites the coconut it optional, in the Bolas Del Diablo the
coconut was in the center... so this candy is good for both coconut
lovers and those who would prefer to leave it out.
