to save money, rancid shea butter is mixed with new shea butter, making it all rancid, degrading the quality as a whole. Not to mention improper heating & conditions damaging the glyceride chains... damaged fat chains lessen the effectiveness of the shea.

Then we can discuss the health aspect of it, making shea with dirty water, metalic water & contaminated instruments insert pathogens & bacteria into the shea.

Incorrect heating damages the fat chain, knocking pieces of it loose. These loose pieces are not able to do their job & they alter the characteristics of shea, making it hard to the touch & to absorb
